About Us
LEADERSHIP TEAM
Led by a group of intelligent and skilled professionals, the executive team consists of the founding social entrepreneurs, who share an immense passion to use education as a means to improve the quality of life for disenfranchised youth. Focusing more on struggling learners, their goal is to develop the innovative, educational solutions to assist schools and educators to motivate students to learn and gain the critical 21st century skills to have a better chance at continuous success.
Christopher Barriteau is the Executive Director of The Artisan School Center (TAS) and conceived the initiative to create an innovative educational institution for disengaged youth, which spurred the simultaneous creation of both TAS and Rockaway Park High School for Environmental Sustainability.
As visionary, Chris designed TAS's Levitating Learning platform to build educational strategies to encourage schools to develop learning environments that embrace creative and critical thinking. Further, under Christopher's leadership TAS has formed strong relationships with several firms to provide the strategic solutions and information necessary to innovate classrooms and motivate students to learn. He believes strongly that the entire world is experiencing a paradigm shift, and schools must prepare students for the jobs of tomorrow that are unknown to us today. Whatever those jobs are however, students will need to possess the intellectual and creative skills to persevere in the new working environment of the 21st century and beyond.
Prior to running TAS, Christopher served as Senior Vice President and Head of Business Development at HedgeCo Securities, and also as a Fixed Income Institutional Salesman and Vice President at Lehman Brothers.
Christopher holds a Bachelors of Business Administration in Accounting from Howard University and is a former Registered Investment Advisor and CPA.
A long-time mentor to New York City students, he often serves as a guest speaker on education and career enrichment topics at local community events and schools.
