Our strategy is to work closely with schools that are interested in providing students exposure to both academic and creative professions using interdisciplinary pedagogy and integrated curricula. Primarily working with educators in under-performing schools, we believe education today must push the envelope to prepare learners for the challenges of persevering in the 21st century. Students need to better grasp the power of education, and be given the opportunity to put that knowledge and skill to work simultaneously in their pursuit of academic and personal success.
Using this educational philosophy we worked with the New York City Department of Education to create, Rockaway Park High School for Environmental Sustainability (RPHS). Located in the Queens NY, RPHS opened to students in September 2010, as one of the city’s few Career & Technical Education (CTE) high schools. As a district school serving diverse learners, RPHS gives us the opportunity to collaborate with educators to provide innovative and rich, qualitative educational programs for less privileged students. In partnering with and supporting The Artisan School Center, students at our affiliated schools, such as RPHS will have both the skills and intellect necessary to succeed in higher education and beyond.
RPHS withstanding, TAS is less about building schools, and more about helping to build the minds of students. Our goal is to promote creativity and critical thinking in education by providing solutions that focus on interdisciplinary and skills-based learning. We simply aim to Levitate Learning both in and outside of the classroom.
